Seeing is Believing

28 August – 19 September 2026

Seeing is Believing presents the debut solo exhibition of Lyncoln Vick (b. 1999), a Sydney-based artist working across abstract landscape and figurative oil painting.

Vick spent most of his life in Innisfail, Far North Queensland, before moving to Sydney to study painting at the National Art School. The extreme natural environment of Northern Australia has shaped his experience of change. Cyclones, tropical heat, and regenerating rainforests reveal an intensity of movement and flux which the solid structures of cities normally conceal.

About the artist

Portrait of Lyncoln Vick

Vick’s practice is concerned with the position of symbolism in painting and the function that painting holds within the contemporary context of artistic practice. His work exists within the realm of figuration, often using figurative motifs and imagery to disorient recognition and cultivate a sense of mystery.
